The Other Side of Wisdom

November 16, 2008

A fool and his money are soon parted .
– They sure do make enough money they can part.

A friend in need is a friend indeed .
– I thought a friend in need, was trouble.
A new broom sweeps clean.
– Why does everyone look for experience?
A problem shared is a problem halved.
– Doesn’t a problem shared become gossip?
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
– Try saying that to a married man.
A watched pot never boils.
– You need to heat it, dummy.
Actions speak louder than words.
-On the dot, I can hear my ears ring even long after my wife slaps me.
Blood is thicker than water.
– It sure is, it’s density is 1.06 compared to 1.0 of water.
Cleanliness is next to godliness.
– I thought it was next to impossible.
Fish and guests smell after three days.
– you need to show your guests where the bathroom is.
It’s the early bird that gets the worm.
– And it is the early worm that gets eaten by the bird.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
– …. and laziness it’s father.
Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
– start procrastinating today.
Worrying never did anyone any good.
– Who says, ask the psychiatrists and psychoanalysist how they make money.
Adversity makes strange bedfellows.
– That’s what they call marriage.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
-I don’t know about the way;but where there is a will, there is bound to be litigations.

    Every proverb has it’s riposte
So, to that, we’ll raise a toast
    Your’s are witty
    Besides being pithy
And in, and of themselves too being so, can verily boast!
